Rob and Paul Forkan, the minds behind Gandys, established the brand with a mission to contribute to global education initiatives. After losing their parents in the 2004 Indian Ocean tsunami, the brothers have been driven by a commitment to donate a portion of profits, specifically 10% of each order, to the Gandys Foundation. This initiative supports educational opportunities for disadvantaged children in regions such as Sri Lanka, Malawi, and Mongolia, accumulating more than £600,000 in funds so far.
The London store, besides selling Gandys’ own products, also showcases a carefully selected range of items from smaller conceptual brands, like Nalgene Water Bottles and Cocoon ecological travel towels. This diverse offering is further complemented by a dedicated library area filled with travel books, presenting an educational angle to shoppers searching for inspiration for their next adventure.
