FRP Corporate Finance has facilitated a significant transaction in the photonics sector, advising precision optics manufacturer Phoenix Optical Technologies on its sale to Gooch and Housego, a prominent player in photonics solutions. Phoenix, based in St. Asaph, North Wales, is known for its advanced technology used in applications such as radar and night vision equipment, serving multiple sectors including defence and space.
The acquisition by Gooch and Housego, headquartered in Somerset, represents a strategic alignment that is expected to elevate both companies’ capabilities. By integrating Phoenix’s specialised technology, Gooch and Housego can enhance its offerings in various high-tech markets, particularly aerospace, defence, and industrial sectors.
FRP’s involvement was comprehensive, with a team led by partner Adrian Gare, director Alex Starling, and manager Amy Murphy overseeing the entire process.
