In a forward-thinking move, Flight Centre has announced the extension of its collaboration with the adventure booking platform, TourRadar. This strategic partnership now allows Flight Centre customers to access a vast selection of more than 8,000 multi-day tours and adventures, provided by esteemed operators such as Intrepid Travel, Trafalgar, Contiki, Globus, and G Adventures. This integration not only enriches the travel options available to customers but also offers them the convenience of viewing comprehensive tour details, including images, itineraries, inclusions, reviews, live availability, and pricing.
Initially, this expanded collaboration will enhance the ‘tours’ section on Flight Centre’s customer website in Australia. However, plans are underway to extend this beneficial arrangement to New Zealand, the United Kingdom, and Canada by the end of September. This broadening of service signifies a significant enhancement in Flight Centre’s online offerings, catering to a global clientele and ensuring accessibility to a wide array of organised travel experiences.
The partnership involves a white label agreement, where TourRadar powers the backend search functionality, while inquiries and bookings continue to be managed directly through Flight Centre’s established network of travel consultants. This seamless integration allows for a smooth transition from initial tour discovery to final booking, maintaining the trusted touchpoint of Flight Centre’s service standards.
Flight Centre first initiated collaboration with TourRadar in 2021, integrating its instantly bookable API into an in-house portal for travel agents. This allowed agents to book preferred operators seamlessly within a single platform. The initial success of this endeavour has paved the way for further developments, now opening up new opportunities for Flight Centre’s online customers to seek enriching and diverse travel experiences.
TourRadar’s co-founder and chief executive, Travis Pittman, expressed pride in the partnership, highlighting how leveraging the right technology elevates the online customer experience. Similarly, Monique Van Gelder, Global Head of Cruise and Tour at Flight Centre, emphasised the importance of offering a broad range and choice of tours to fulfil the evolving desires of customers who dream, plan, and book their holidays online.
The extended partnership between Flight Centre and TourRadar demonstrates a commitment to enhancing customer travel experiences through innovative solutions.
