The Expedition Cruise Network (ECN) has embarked on a significant development in the expedition cruise industry by launching its inaugural awards ceremony. This initiative is set to recognise and applaud the outstanding achievements within the sector, both among cruise lines and travel trade professionals. The awards have been meticulously designed to highlight excellence across various segments of the industry, ensuring a comprehensive celebration of success.
In a strategic move to encompass the diversity of the industry, the awards feature seven categories specifically for expedition cruise lines. These categories encompass recognition for the best operators in polar and warm weather destinations, as well as accolades for luxury and sustainability achievements. Additionally, distinctions are made for the best large, medium, and small operators, providing a platform for operators of all sizes to be acknowledged for their contributions.
Meanwhile, the travel trade sector is not left behind, with five distinct categories acknowledging excellence. The categories honor the best expedition cruise travel agency and tour operator, alongside recognition for the best individual expedition cruise seller or travel advisor. Furthermore, emerging talent is recognised with awards for the best newcomer and individual newcomer to the expedition cruise scene.
Contributing to the robustness of the awards process, industry professionals can nominate themselves or be nominated by peers. The nominations will be diligently assessed by a panel comprising members of expedition cruise lines that are part of the ECN. This approach ensures a fair and comprehensive evaluation of nominees, reflecting the high standards of the industry.
The awards event is strategically timed to coincide with the Expedition Cruise Network’s debut conference, a significant gathering scheduled from 1-2 October 2024 at the prestigious Bankside Hotel in London. This alignment not only maximises the visibility and impact of the awards ceremony but also reinforces the ECN’s commitment to fostering excellence within the industry.
The upcoming awards are set to significantly recognise and celebrate the achievements within the expedition cruise industry.
