The Expedition Cruise Network is taking a bold step forward by integrating Quixote Specialist, a pioneer in the niche of micro-cruising. Quixote strives to provide intimate cruising experiences, mainly focusing on Antarctica. Their voyages are uniquely designed for groups no larger than 12 individuals, allowing travellers to fully immerse themselves in the serene landscapes of the polar region.
Chief Executive of the Expedition Cruise Network, Akvile Marozaite, expressed enthusiasm about this collaboration. “We are delighted to welcome Quixote Expeditions to the Expedition Cruise Network,” she stated. This move is aimed at expanding the portfolio of cruise operators that offer distinctive, small-scale opportunities for adventure-seekers. By utilising smaller vessels, they ensure access to some of the world’s most isolated environments, enhancing visitor experience through personalised and less intrusive exploration methods.
Adding to this, Laura Smith, co-founder and operations director of Quixote Expeditions, underlined the significance of this partnership. She pointed out that many perceive 100-passenger ships as small, yet Quixote demonstrates there are even more intimate options available, refuting this common assumption. Smith articulated, “We are at the smaller end of the range, offering micro-cruises and this is a great place to showcase the uniqueness of micro-cruising in Antarctic waters.” This engagement is set to educate the market about the varied cruising options, particularly in lesser-known territories.
Since joining, the Expedition Cruise Network now boasts 27 member cruise lines, alongside 1,555 industry participants, encompassing travel professionals from various sectors such as travel agents, tour operators, and sales experts. This expansion reflects the ongoing growth and diversification within the expedition cruise sector. More broadly, it signifies a shift towards more exclusive, eco-focused travel experiences.
Expedition Cruise Network’s collaboration with Quixote Specialist marks a significant enhancement in offering varied, eco-conscious cruising experiences.
