Approximately 60 partners are attending, marking a significant collaboration with other industry leaders.
Expedia has taken this opportunity to unveil new products while expanding existing services across its global booking platform. This platform is designed to connect travel advisors to a diverse portfolio of travel options, including hotels, flights, and car rentals. The unveiling aims to enrich the experience for both advisors and their clients by enhancing the range of options available.
The expansion of deferred payment initiatives to additional markets has been another significant development. This innovative approach allows travel agencies to delay payments, thus managing cash flows more efficiently. Notably, Brazil and China have been added to the list of markets adopting this initiative, allowing over 16,000 agencies to benefit from improved financial management strategies.
Research indicates that travel agencies typically have longer booking windows than direct consumers. Consequently, deferred payments enable these agencies to synchronise their financial obligations with booking timelines, optimising fiscal operations.
Moreover, the expansion of the travel advisor loyalty scheme from the United States to Canada and Mexico represents a strategic move to further engage advisors. This programme incentivises advisors through reward points redeemable for gift cards, thereby fostering a rewarding relationship with Expedia.
In a statement, Expedia TAAP vice president Robin Lawther highlighted the day as a perfect opportunity to reinforce the company’s commitment to travel advisors. Lawther emphasised the importance of personalised services and financial flexibility as part of Expedia’s strategy to attract new customers and support existing ones.
