Electric van drivers operating in Greater Manchester are witnessing a substantial enhancement in their charging options, thanks to a strategic agreement between charging networks Be.EV and Paua. This collaboration signifies a noteworthy step forward in accommodating the needs of electric vehicle operators, particularly in ensuring accessible and widespread charging facilities.
The agreement has introduced 700 more charge points, which are now within easy reach of commercial drivers. This expansion effectively positions the Paua EV charging network as a formidable presence in the region. With Be.EV’s involvement, customers gain access to a total of 1,800 EV connectors, ensuring that drivers can find charging stations conveniently every square mile.
Notably, over 1,000 of these new points are high-powered DC chargers, catering specifically to the demands of commercial vehicles and facilitating rapid charging. This development underscores the commitment to providing efficient and reliable energy solutions, essential for the smooth operation of electric vehicles.
Despite these advancements, rural areas still face challenges with charging infrastructure. Regions such as Caithness, Northumberland National Park, and the North Yorkshire Moors exhibit the lowest densities of electric vehicle chargers, highlighting an area that necessitates further attention and development.
