DHL Supply Chain has been appointed by Omoda and Jaecoo UK in a significant multi-year warehousing contract. This agreement comes as both Chinese car brands prepare to debut in the UK market, representing a substantial step forward in their international expansion plans. Built by Chery Automobile Co., one of China’s largest car manufacturers, Omoda and Jaecoo are poised to introduce a new range of vehicles to the UK.
Through this partnership, DHL will be providing state-of-the-art warehousing services that are essential for the aftermarket phase of these brands’ operations. This includes the storage of vital spare parts, accessories, and components such as batteries for electric and hybrid vehicles. The logistics support extends from DHL’s Valley Cross site in Rugby, offering comprehensive services to ensure operational scalability post-launch.
A standout feature of this contract is its alignment with sustainable practices. This initiative not only enhances cost efficiency but also supports the brands’ commitment to sustainability. Furthermore, DHL staff have undergone rigorous safety training, specifically designed for the safe handling and storage of EV batteries, ensuring compliance and safety standards are met.
