A digital firm based in Devon has been acquired by a leading national software and payments company from the UK. The transaction, whose financial details remain undisclosed, sees Kingsbridge-headquartered GOb2b, known for its expertise in business-to-business ecommerce solutions, joining forces with ClearCourse, a company based in London. GOb2b specialises in providing software solutions that enable businesses, such as tyre specialists Yokohama and consumer products group Viatek, to manage complex aspects of their operations, including stock volumes, pricing options, and card payments.
Following the acquisition, GOb2b anticipates benefiting from ClearCourse’s expansive networks and resources, potentially allowing it to reach a broader client base and enhancing its service offerings. Conversely, ClearCourse aims to integrate its payment solutions within GOb2b’s established customer network, thereby driving growth and expanding its market presence.
Former Chief Executive of GOb2b, Paul Dorey, remains with the company in a consultancy role, where he will aid in navigating the integration process. He stated, “Both businesses have a strong, complementary product offering that offers exciting potential for integration. The acquisition was strategically guided by FRP Corporate Finance, with Simon Davies, a partner at the firm, along with director Richard Boyden and senior manager Madhavi Morjaria, playing pivotal roles. Simon Davies remarked on GOb2b’s impressive customer base and its seamless customer onboarding abilities, highlighting the growth potential unlocked by the acquisition.
