In a strategic move, APT & Travelmarvel has appointed David Winterton as its sales marketing lead. Winterton, recognized for his significant contributions at Emerald Cruises in the UK and internationally, will undertake this role starting 12 September. His initial contract is set for six months, with the possibility of future extensions. APT & Travelmarvel, a premier river cruise and touring operator, aims to leverage Winterton’s expertise to further its ambitious business strategy.
Winterton is tasked with elevating the APT and Travelmarvel brands within the luxury and flexible four-star market sectors, aiming to establish these brands as household names. This task aligns with the company’s overarching goal to drive its business strategy forward aggressively.
Winterton will be under the guidance of Paul Melinis, the managing director for the UK & Europe, and Katie Elson, the head of marketing transformation. This leadership team is expected to harness Winterton’s unparalleled contacts and understanding of the luxury cruise sector to enhance their market influence.
Melinis praised Winterton’s proven track record, stating that his ability to elevate brands in the luxury cruise space makes him an excellent fit for APT & Travelmarvel. Winterton expressed his enthusiasm for joining the company, highlighting its forward-thinking approach and recent expansions, notably with new ships launching in Asia and Europe.
