Danny Giles has been appointed as the regional sales manager north for Crystal, commencing his role on 6 November. With more than two decades of experience in the travel industry, Giles is tasked with driving trade sales performance and enhancing Crystal’s presence in the northern UK and EMEA regions. His primary objective will be to rebuild and strengthen connections with travel partners across Scotland, North of England, and Ireland. Giles’ extensive experience is expected to play a pivotal role in achieving these objectives as he reports to Stephen Joyner, Crystal’s senior sales manager UK and Ireland.
In a parallel strategic move, Stefan Nicodemus will assume the position of regional sales manager for northern Europe starting 1 November. Nicodemus brings over 30 years of experience, including a substantial tenure at Hapag-Lloyd Cruises, which is anticipated to benefit Crystal significantly. His role encompasses developing relationships with trade partners across Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Benelux, and Scandinavia, reporting to Michael Steffl, Crystal’s director of trade sales EMEA. Nicodemus’ wealth of experience is central to the ambitious expansion plans in these territories.
The addition of Giles and Nicodemus to Crystal’s team embodies the company’s ongoing commitment to strengthening their sales efforts across critical markets. Matias Lira, SVP of trade sales LATAM, UK, and EMEA, expressed confidence in the new appointments, appreciating the expertise and enthusiasm both bring to the team. This move also hints at further UK trade team expansions, as the company looks to bolster its reach and efficiency.
Moreover, Crystal introduced a new trade booking incentive, aptly named ‘Sell Three, Sail Free’, which is designed to motivate agents by offering a complimentary cruise for new bookings. This initiative is valid for 18 sailings across diverse locations including Europe, the US, Canada, the Caribbean, South America, and Asia. This scheme highlights Crystal’s innovative approach to enhancing agent participation and expanding its market coverage.
These strategic appointments and initiatives collectively signify Crystal’s ambitious plans to expand and enhance its market presence.
