In a strategic move to strengthen its foothold in the competitive UK market, Crystal Cruises announces a restructure of its sales team. Following the departure of Andrew Magowan, the former vice-president of sales for the UK and EMEA, the company has promoted Stephen Joyner to senior sales manager. Joyner, who joined the company in January, previously held a position at A-Rosa River Cruises for four years.
The restructuring also includes an expansion of the sales team, reflecting Crystal Cruises’ commitment to rebuilding its clientele in the region. Three new regional sales managers are being introduced to cover various territories within the UK and Northern Ireland. This adjustment demonstrates the company’s proactive approach to strengthening local relationships and enhancing service delivery.
Camille Drevillon, chief strategy officer of the parent company, Abercrombie & Kent Travel Group, emphasises the need for a robust presence in the market. Drevillon highlights that face-to-face interactions are crucial, as agents require a direct connection with Crystal Cruises to facilitate client relations effectively. The restructuring strategy is being implemented as a response to the growing competitiveness in this sector.
To further galvanise efforts in the UK market, Crystal Cruises has released its inaugural UK brochure. This initiative is designed to present potential clients with tangible evidence of the high quality and operational sophistication of their offerings. According to Drevillon, physical marketing materials remain vital, particularly for high-end clients who value such details.
With the US market leading for Crystal Cruises, the United Kingdom and extended European markets present substantial opportunities for growth. As such, this strategic restructuring and the introduction of the new brochure signify Crystal Cruises’ vested interest in capturing a more significant share of these markets.
Crystal Cruises’ strategic sales team restructuring is poised to harness untapped potential in the UK market.
