This prestigious event is set to continue the success demonstrated in previous years. The second edition, held in Costa Brava, culminated in over 2,100 meetings, a significant achievement for the representatives of more than 200 luxury travel brands, agencies, and suppliers selected from the esteemed Connections Luxury Community.
The unique format, known as the ‘Connections Way’, ingeniously combines traditional business meetings with authentic local experiences, thereby enhancing the potential for meaningful collaborations. During the last event, delegates from across Europe, North America, and other global markets participated, reflecting the international allure and influence of Connections Luxury Europe.
Post the main event, a select group of buyers were privileged to partake in exclusive familiarisation trips across Costa Brava and Barcelona, fostering deeper engagement with the region’s offerings. Narcís Ferrer, director of the Catalan Tourist Board, affirmed the strategic importance of the event, stating that it provides an opportune platform to position premium travel as a cornerstone of Catalonia’s tourism agenda.
According to Ferrer, hosting the event across the diverse and rich landscapes of Costa Brava aligns with Catalonia’s vision to showcase its culture, gastronomy, and natural beauty. In line with this, Greg Reeves, managing director of Connections Luxury, echoed the sentiment and emphasised the significance of the partnership. He praised Catalonia for its intrinsic luxury rooted in unique experiences that include vineyards, beaches, and opportunities for hiking and skiing.
Duncan Horton, group chief executive of Connections Luxury’s parent company Jacobs Media, expressed pride in the transformative impact of Connections on the luxury travel sector. Horton highlighted the innovation brought by the ‘Connections Way’ in establishing enduring business partnerships through shared experiences. He indicated a positive outlook for expanding their community of luxury travel professionals globally, with ambitions to initiate events in new regions and further drive collaborative efforts in the premium travel industry.
