Celestyal, a prominent name in the cruise industry, is poised to enhance its fleet with the recent acquisition of the Celestyal Discovery. This expansion is a part of the company’s forward-looking strategy, marked by the addition of another new vessel within the same year. The Discovery will anchor in Athens, where it will undergo a comprehensive, multimillion-euro refurbishment, signalling a significant investment in customer experience and fleet modernisation.
Built in 2003 for the Carnival Corporation, the Celestyal Discovery has had a longstanding presence within the AIDA Cruise brand. It boasts 633 staterooms, 62 of which feature balconies to provide guests with a premium experience. The vessel is equipped to host up to 1,266 guests, offering a blend of comfort and modern amenities.
From 11 December 2023, the Celestyal Discovery will be available for guest bookings, effectively replacing the 2024 itineraries initially set for the Celestyal Olympia. This strategic move aligns with the company’s extensive promotional activities, including the anticipated Black Friday specials and an expansive campaign at the year’s end, aptly named the ‘Wave campaign’.
In light of these developments, customers with existing bookings on the Olympia will be contacted and accommodated on the newly updated Discovery. This initiative ensures seamless transition for passengers, underlining Celestyal’s dedication to maintaining high service standards.
