The Fairmont Windsor Park Hotel played host to a prestigious event celebrating the outstanding achievements of top-performing travel counsellors who have attained the distinguished ‘Gold’ status. The evening was a highlight in marking the 20th anniversary of the ‘Gold’ programme, which also coincides with the 30th anniversary of the homeworking agency. It was a momentous occasion, recognising the dedication and commitment of those who excel in their field.
This commemorative event drew nearly 130 participants, including 16 travel counsellors newly achieving ‘Gold’ status, over 20 support team colleagues, and numerous supplier partners. A particular honour was bestowed upon the six travel counsellors who have maintained their ‘Gold’ status since the inception of the programme. These individuals exemplify excellence, having reached their record year as recently as 2023.
Attendees were treated to a variety of activities designed to foster community and celebrate shared successes. The proceedings began with afternoon tea and evolved into engaging sessions such as a fireside chat with the ‘Gold’ travel counsellors. Networking was further facilitated through interactive activities, including cocktail making and terrarium masterclasses, culminating in a formal three-course dinner and an awards ceremony.
Jim Eastwood, the global sales director, articulated the significance of the event by stating, ‘The event was a lovely opportunity to come together, celebrate our remarkable achievements over the past 12 months and indeed 20 years of Gold, and strengthen the relationships of our community.’ His sentiments reflect the event’s role in reinforcing community bonds and recognising leadership within the travel industry.
Currently, the network boasts over 250 ‘Gold’ travel counsellors worldwide. Those maintaining this elite status are afforded exclusive opportunities, such as invitations to one of five planned overseas trips later this year. The event underscored the global reach and influence of these top achievers.
Support for the celebration was robust, with sponsorship from notable industry players including Celebrity Cruises, Discover Qatar, Regent Seven Seas, Grecotel Hotel & Resorts, Conrad Maldives Rangali, Visit Dubai, and Cunard. This underscores the event’s prominence and the industry’s recognition of excellence.
The celebration was a testament to the enduring success and leadership of top-performing travel counsellors.
