Carnival Cruise Line is embarking on an ambitious programme for 2024, targeting engagement with a larger number of travel agents than previously attempted. This initiative will see the cruise line hosting seven key events in the UK, offering a total of 350 trade spaces for agents to engage directly with the prestigious Carnival Legend vessel. The designated locations for these visits include Dover, Liverpool, Edinburgh, Greenock, and Belfast, strategically scheduled to maximise convenience for regional agents across the country.
At these events, agents will be afforded the unique opportunity to explore the Carnival Legend, a premier cruise ship with a capacity of 2,124 passengers. This hands-on experience is designed to provide agents with in-depth knowledge of the vessel’s offerings, enhancing their ability to promote and sell Carnival cruise experiences effectively. The visit experience is further enriched with a complimentary lunch at the Lido, where attendees can enjoy a selection of wine, beer, and soft drinks, fostering a collegial and pleasant atmosphere.
The programme is not merely a tour but an educational endeavour aimed at fortifying the relationship between Carnival and its trade partners. Iain Baillie, Vice President of International Sales for Carnival Cruise Line, emphasised the vital role travel agents play within the industry, describing them as ‘the cornerstone of our industry.’ He highlighted the company’s dedication to supporting agents through this programme, which is both a celebration of their partnership and a vehicle for delivering informative sessions coupled with warm hospitality.
During the timeframe of June to August, the Carnival Legend will operate a schedule comprising nine-day round trips around Britain and excursions to the western Mediterranean. This promotional programme aligns with Carnival’s broader strategic initiatives, which include the introduction of a fifth Excel-class ship by 2028, signalling the company’s ongoing commitment to fleet expansion and innovation.
This new programme exemplifies Carnival’s strategic commitment to strengthening relationships with travel agents through innovative and engaging industry initiatives.
