Carnival Cruise Line recently orchestrated an enriching familiarisation trip for 21 travel agents, partnering with Visit Florida to offer a unique blend of land and sea experiences. The initiative involved a two-night stay at Hutchinson Resort, Martin County, where agents indulged in engaging activities, such as a serene sea turtle beach walk, before setting sail.
Following the hospitality in Martin County, the agents embarked on Carnival Sunrise from Miami, embarking on a four-night cruise that included calls to Nassau and the idyllic Half Moon Cay, Carnival’s exclusive island destination. This segment aimed to provide the agents with a comprehensive understanding of the cruise line’s offerings, enhancing their ability to market these experiences.
Onboard the Carnival Sunrise, the agents were treated to a wealth of experiences. They dined at speciality restaurants, offering culinary delights, and participated in a lively 1980s-themed rock and glow party, which showcased the vibrant atmosphere and entertainment options available to Carnival guests.
Abigail Reilly from Virgin Holidays lauded the opportunity, expressing that the experience was enlightening and would undoubtedly bolster her capability to drive sales by showcasing Carnival’s destinations and services more knowledgeably. Dennis Straetmans of Iglu Cruise echoed this sentiment, highlighting the enjoyable nature of the Bahamas visit and the quality of onboard entertainment and cuisine.
Iain Baillie, Vice-President of International Sales at Carnival, underscored the importance of familiarisation trips as a strategic tool in cementing long-term relations with trade partners. He emphasised the value agents place on immersive experiences, which enable them to convey Carnival’s brand ethos with authenticity to clients.
This initiative represents Carnival’s commitment to fostering robust relationships with trade partners by offering genuine product experiences.
