In a decisive move to enhance its presence in the Midlands, Caddick has appointed John Currie and Ian Calder to oversee operations, just a year after opening its Birmingham office. This development is underscored by a robust project pipeline valued at £250 million, reinforcing Caddick’s strategic growth in the region.
John Currie, who has assumed the role of Operations Director, is tasked with the leadership of high-rise residential projects not just in the Midlands, but also across Yorkshire, the northeast, and the northwest. His previous experience as operations director at Carillion, where he notably managed the Beetham Tower project in Manchester, equips him well for this significant role.
Ian Calder, on the other hand, serves as Operations Manager for commercial, low-rise residential, and industrial projects. Having begun his career as a site engineer and progressed through senior roles in companies such as Wates and Seddon Construction, Calder brings a wealth of experience to Caddick. His recent tenure at Speller Metcalfe saw him manage project delivery extensively across the Midlands.
Current projects spearheaded by Caddick in the Midlands include Vernon Park in Wolverhampton and the Port Loop development in Birmingham, a collaborative effort with Places for People and Urban Splash.
Ray O’Sullivan, Regional Managing Director, remarked on the positive reception that Caddick has encountered in the Midlands market, highlighting the strategic importance of the region to Caddick’s expansion. He emphasised that the integration of Currie and Calder is a testament to Caddick’s pledge of delivering quality and reliability, enhancing client and supply chain confidence.
Caddick’s strategic appointments reinforce its commitment to expanding and strengthening its operations in the Midlands.
