Boughey Distribution has announced a strategic partnership with the charity Veterans into Logistics, which is dedicated to facilitating employment opportunities for veterans transitioning into civilian life. In this forward-thinking collaboration, Boughey will leverage its in-house training team to prepare veterans for careers in the logistics sector, particularly focusing on roles on the road or within warehouse operations.
Through its new role as a Bronze Patron of Veterans into Logistics, Cheshire-based Boughey Distribution will open numerous ongoing vacancies specifically for candidates from the charity. Newly qualified and less experienced drivers will be incorporated into a driver mentor scheme, designed to enhance their skills and readiness for permanent positions within the company. This initiative underscores the company’s approach to workforce development while supporting a noble cause.
Boughey Distribution’s transport operations director, Neil Trotter, expressed enthusiasm about the partnership, highlighting the valuable qualities veterans bring to the workforce. He stated, “We’re thrilled to be able to be in a position where we can help Veterans into Logistics. Veterans and ex-military servicemen and women are excellent team players and have many of the values Boughey holds highly. The work that Veterans into Logistics carries out is an inspiration to us and we are proud to support this fantastic programme.”
As part of its expansive strategy, Boughey has recently grown its operations into Newcastle-under-Lyme, presenting new recruitment opportunities. This geographical expansion aligns with the company’s mission to empower veterans through meaningful employment, creating a win-win situation for both Boughey and the veterans it supports.
The partnership between Boughey Distribution and Veterans into Logistics represents a promising venture for both veteran employment and industry growth.
