In a significant move to enhance its family and children law expertise, Beyond Law Group has appointed Mairead Williams to McAlister Family Law. This appointment comes amidst a period of substantial growth and success for the group. McAlister Family Law stands out for its expansive Children Law team, one of the largest outside London. The team includes nine members from the Law Society’s Advanced Children Panel, underpinning the practice’s strong reputation.
Unlike many other firms, McAlister Family Law extends its representation to children themselves, alongside parents, grandparents, and stepparents. This broad spectrum of representation is supported by numerous accreditations. These include the Law Society Children Law Accreditation Panel and affiliations with the Institute of Family Law Arbitrators.
Mairead Williams embarks on her journey with McAlister Family Law after honing her skills at Lewis Rogers Solicitors and subsequently at Berkson Family Law in Liverpool. Her focus has been on public law, private law children, and domestic abuse cases, enabling her to handle a wide range of client needs effectively.
Williams is expected to concentrate on care matters at McAlister, managing a varied caseload. This includes handling contact disputes, child arrangement orders, and adoption processes, as well as tackling complex issues such as Special Guardianship Orders and Non-Accidental Injury (NAI) and Fabricated or Induced Illness (FII) cases. Her expertise promises to bolster the firm’s capability in managing intricate legal challenges.
The strategic appointment aligns with Beyond Law Group’s concept of integrating corporate and consumer legal services, a model rarely seen in the UK. This innovation has been a driving force behind the firm’s recent success, which comprises a portfolio of three practices: Beyond Corporate, Beyond Conveyancing, and McAlister Family Law. Mairead Williams expressed her enthusiasm, stating she is eager to contribute to the continuing growth and reputation of the practice.
This sentiment is echoed by key figures within the group. Amanda McAlister, the managing partner, and Matt Fleetwood, Chief Executive and Founder, both articulated their confidence in Williams’ ability to significantly enhance the Children Law offering. As Beyond Law Group enters its sixth year, this addition is viewed as a strategic step towards nurturing future talent and maintaining its trajectory of success.
Mairead Williams’ appointment marks a pivotal moment for McAlister Family Law, fortifying its services at a time of notable expansion and ambition.
