Beachcomber Tours recently revealed an unprecedented long-haul educational expedition designed for travel agents and their children. This initiative intends to demonstrate what makes Mauritius an outstanding option for a family holiday. The programme’s distinctive aspect is its focus on letting both the agents and their children participate, fostering a genuine family perspective on the destination’s offerings.
Families constitute around 40% of Beachcomber’s clientele, according to UK Sales Manager Sarah Archer. She highlighted that this unique educational journey is not just about equipping agents with better sales tools but also showcasing how Beachcomber Resorts & Hotels can be the perfect setting for family vacations. Archer noted that Mauritius offers exceptional value, with costs potentially lower than European holidays, while providing a richer experience for families.
Set to happen from 11th to 18th July, aligning with the end of the summer term for many schools in England and Wales, the trip considers academic schedules. Archer acknowledged the timing challenge, stating that it was scheduled as close to school holidays as possible to limit educational impacts, though parents must individually assess its suitability.
The travel experience will be led by Regional Sales Manager Sam Orbell, accompanied by his son, Arlo. Participants will enjoy tailor-made family experiences, staying at three premier Beachcomber resorts. This includes exclusive tours of the five-star Dinarobin Beachcomber Golf Resort & Spa and the all-inclusive five-star Shandrani Beachcomber Resort & Spa, each curating family-centric activities.
Children on the trip will engage in diverse activities, such as interactive eco-adventures and cultural workshops, enriching their understanding of Mauritian culture and history. Parents will have opportunities to relax and enjoy amenities like spa treatments or golf, while children participate in dedicated kids’ clubs and activities tailored to their interests.
Beachcomber is also integrating ecological awareness into the trip, including visits to conservation projects and eco-friendly initiatives. This aims to cultivate environmental consciousness among young participants, emphasising the importance of sustainable tourism practices.
Agents interested in the fam trip must submit a 60-second engaging video featuring themselves and their ‘junior’ travel agent. This creative entry, illustrating why Beachcomber is ideal for family holidays, must be submitted by the year’s end, with selections finalised by January.
This initiative by Beachcomber Tours sets a novel precedent in travel education for agents and families.
