The Association of Touring and Adventure Suppliers (Atas) is reaching out to travel agents, urging them to enter its esteemed 2024 awards scheme. This initiative seeks to honour those who have demonstrated exceptional creativity and success in the realm of touring and adventure holidays. Winners will be recognised during a glittering ceremony at the Atas Annual Conference, scheduled to be held at the Royal Armouries in Leeds from October 15 to 16.
According to Claire Brighton, director of Atas, the goal is to continue the momentum of recognising significant achievements within the agent community, as seen during the previous year’s awards in Liverpool. Brighton expressed excitement, noting the spirited environment among delegates as they celebrated the dedication of winning agents.
Brighton is encouraging agents to participate once more, whether by nominating themselves or a colleague who has excelled in the past year. She emphasises the importance of broad participation, particularly with the introduction of new award categories, such as the Expedition Cruise One to Watch, reflecting growth in this sector and the opportunities it presents.
This year’s awards include several categories: the Touring & Adventure One to Watch, targeting agents or agencies that have shown significant progress within the last year in selling touring and adventure holidays. Another is the Expedition Cruise One to Watch, which focuses on promoting and selling expedition cruises.
There is also the Social Media Star category for agents effectively using social media to boost engagement and success in promoting touring and adventure holidays. Furthermore, the Sustainability Champion award recognises agents who integrate sustainable and responsible travel practices into their business models.
Regional categories are also available, voted for by suppliers, covering various areas across the UK. These include Agency of the Year designations for different regions, such as Southeast England and Scotland & Northern Ireland. Entries should be submitted to Claire Brighton, with a deadline of August 22.
The Atas 2024 Recognition Awards is an opportunity for travel agents to gain recognition for their innovation and leadership in the industry.
