Ambassador Cruise Line has unveiled the names of eight travel agents who have secured placements on a prestigious fjords sailing to Norway, scheduled for the autumn season. These agents were selected from a competitive pool, having demonstrated exceptional creativity and strategy in their quest to promote bookings for Ambassador Cruise Line. This trip is part of a broader initiative, initially revealed in April, aiming to engage with a vast network of 60 agents through various voyages later this year.
The upcoming seven-night Fjordland cruise will embark from Tilbury on 26 September, offering an itinerary that includes landmark destinations such as Bergen, Flam, Eidfjord, and Stavanger. In total, twenty agent partners will join the Ambassador trade team aboard Ambience, with a select eight having earned their positions via a competitive process held from 7 to 17 June. This period saw nearly 100 agents vying for a chance to participate by showcasing their inventive approaches to securing bookings through various media submissions.
An expert panel meticulously evaluated each submission, focusing on the creativity and uniqueness presented by the agents. Karen Cameron, Ambassador Cruise Line’s deputy head of trade, conveyed her enthusiasm, noting the overwhelming response and high calibre of entries received. She remarked on the difficulty faced by the panel in making final selections due to the exceptional quality on display.
The trip winners include Bridget Wilkinson from Your Co-op Travel in Kidderminster, recognised for her engaging social media presence, and Remi Creed from One Travel Club in Manchester, known for launching a cruise specialist team and planning to document the trip through a unique social diary. Other notable winners are Suze Newton-Staines from Inteletravel, who cleverly utilised the brand name to craft an acrostic proposal, and Sam Wolanski of No Fuss Holidays, who delivered outstanding results without prior industry experience.
This fjords trip is one of three announced, with further itineraries planned. These include an eight-night Majestic Fjordland sailing from Tilbury in July and an eight-night River Seine and Antwerp experience set for October, departing from Port of Tyne.
The high level of creativity and engagement from agents underscores the success of Ambassador Cruise Line’s promotional efforts.
