AmaWaterways is embarking on an ambitious incentive programme that spans six weeks, aiming to engage and reward travel agents for their stellar performance in the past year. Beginning on 18 January, this initiative will culminate on 22 February, offering participants the chance to win a variety of themed prizes that reflect the unique selling points of AmaWaterways, such as wellbeing, cuisine, and destinations.
Each week’s theme will be highlighted through a video feature on Travel Weekly’s Facebook page, presented by a member of the AmaWaterways team. The videos are designed not only to educate agents on the specific theme but also to pose related questions. Agents will then be encouraged to visit the Travel Weekly website to respond to these questions, thereby entering the weekly draw for enticing prizes including a hybrid bike, a Nespresso machine, and a wine-tasting experience.
In addition to these weekly prizes, all agents who participate by answering the questions will automatically be entered into a grand prize draw. Here, they stand to win a luxurious seven-night European cruise for two, an opportunity that complements AmaWaterways’ ongoing wave campaign. This campaign also offers free flights, overseas transfers, and savings of up to £1,500 per couple on selected 2024 and 2025 river cruises, should bookings be made by the end of March 2024.
Jamie Loizou, the UK and Ireland managing director of AmaWaterways, has articulated that this incentive programme is a gesture of gratitude to the travel trade, recognising their remarkable contributions in 2023. During this period, the company observed a substantial 78% increase in the number of UK travel agencies booking their sailings, marking it as a year where commission payouts were unparalleled. Loizou emphasised, “Our agents’ success is our success,” underscoring the symbiotic relationship between AmaWaterways and its agent partners.
The incentive programme not only seeks to reward past accomplishments but also aims to motivate agents towards future successes. Through this programme, AmaWaterways intends to sustain and build upon the momentum of their sales and marketing partnerships with trade agents, positioning themselves favourably within the competitive cruise market.
The initiative exemplifies AmaWaterways’ commitment to rewarding and strengthening ties with its travel agent partners.
