AmaWaterways has unveiled a novel educational initiative targeted at travel agents through its AmaAcademy platform, further bolstering their proficiency in promoting luxury river cruise vacations. This third instalment in the AmaAcademy series is specifically designed to deepen agents’ comprehension of some of the most renowned European river cruise routes, centring on the Rhine, Main, and Moselle rivers.
Entitled “The Rhine, Main, and Moselle Rivers with AmaWaterways,” the new course seeks to impart a robust understanding of these regions’ unique attractions and the distinctive cruise experiences offered to guests. This course complements previous modules that delved into the Danube itineraries, broadening the educational scope offered by AmaWaterways to its travel partners.
In an effort to encourage participation and completion, newcomers to the AmaAcademy are incentivised with the opportunity to earn up to £75 in reward gift cards, contingent upon completing all three courses and securing three reservations within 90 days post-course completion. Andrea Stafford, Sales Director for the UK & Europe, noted the strategic importance of these initiatives, emphasizing that supporting travel agents and nurturing the growth of their river cruise business stand as primary objectives.
The comprehensive AmaAcademy curriculum includes an introduction to the history, people, and products associated with AmaWaterways, before advancing through modules focused on specific river itineraries. The platform aims to equip travel agents not only with essential destination knowledge but also with the necessary product understanding to effectively market and sell these cruises.
Notably, agents who conclude the AmaAcademy courses become eligible for reduced rates on familiarisation trips. This serves as both an educational benefit and an enticement for agents to engage more extensively with AmaWaterways’ offerings. The success of such initiatives is evidenced by a reported 78% increase in the volume of travel agents booking AmaWaterways’ river cruises year-on-year.
The latest course from AmaWaterways offers a comprehensive insight into renowned European river itineraries, fostering significant growth among travel agents.
