AmaWaterways, a leader in the luxury river cruise sector, has announced the opening of reservations for its 2025 cruise itineraries. This new programme aims to cater to the growing demand for river cruising. Introducing the AmaMagdalena and AmaMelodia, their operations on the Magdalena River in Colombia are set to begin with the launch of the AmaMagdalena in November 2024, followed by AmaMelodia in June 2025. These ships will provide an exclusive cruising experience for 60 guests, a testament to the company’s commitment to intimate, luxurious travel.
On the Douro River, the new ship AmaSintra will join the existing fleet, offering passengers two distinct seven-night itineraries. Travellers can choose between the ‘Enticing Douro’, a roundtrip journey starting in Porto, and ‘Flavours of Portugal & Spain’, a cruise stretching from Porto to Vega de Terron, Spain. Meanwhile, the Danube will see the introduction of the ‘Imperial Danube’ itinerary, a roundtrip from Budapest that includes stops in renowned cities such as Bratislava, Durnstein, and Vienna.
In response to the noticeable demand for extended travel experiences, AmaWaterways is reinstating its 14-night ‘Magnificent Europe’ cruise. This journey across Europe’s waterways will navigate between Amsterdam in the Netherlands and Budapest, offering guests an in-depth exploration of diverse cultures and historical landmarks throughout the continent.
AmaWaterways co-founder and president, Rudi Schreiner, expressed excitement over the forthcoming 2025 itineraries. He noted that with the indication of 2023 being a successful year and expectations of breaking records in 2024, the new schedules aim to enhance the company’s offerings. ‘To meet the growing demand for river cruising, we will have additional ships in Colombia and Portugal, which brings our award-winning fleet to 29 river cruise ships welcoming between 28 and 196 guests each.’
Furthermore, travellers booking before 30 September can enjoy discounts of up to 20%, making early reservations both a practical and economical decision. The strategic opening of these new routes and promotional pricing demonstrates AmaWaterways’ forward-thinking approach in the competitive cruising industry.
AmaWaterways is poised for a remarkable 2025, expanding its fleet and itineraries to meet growing travel demands.
