In an ambitious effort to engage its travel agent partners across the UK and Ireland, Royal Caribbean launched The Big Royal Thank You incentive, offering its largest prize pool to date. The eight-week competition witnessed remarkable enthusiasm from more than 3,700 agents, each striving for a chance to claim one of the nearly 300 enticing prizes.
Among the distinguished winners, Dawn McCaffrey from Northern Ireland emerged triumphantly, securing the coveted prize of a new MG4 EV Electric Car. McCaffrey expressed immense joy at winning, stating, “I am so excited with winning this once in a lifetime prize, it means the world to me and my family. No more car sharing with my husband for me and my two girls!” Her victory signifies the peak of competition and the dedication shown by agents.
Elaine Truesdale, also from Northern Ireland and representing Cruise Beyond – Oasis Travel, was another standout participant. She achieved third place, receiving a substantial £1,000 credit in her Club Rewards account. Truesdale’s gratitude was evident as she remarked, “Just wanted to extend my big thank you to you for all your help, guidance and support. I am totally delighted to have been placed third in the Big Royal Thank You. That amount of money the month before Christmas truly does mean the world to me.”
The competition also recognised a UK-based travel agent from Cruise 1st, who claimed the second place prize of a Caribbean cruise, inclusive of flights for two people. The timing of this reward is particularly notable as it coincides with Royal Caribbean’s impending launch of Icon of the Seas from Miami in January 2024.
Jennifer Callister, head of sales for Ireland, highlighted the exemplary participation of Irish agents, remarking, “From the start of the competition, the travel agents in Ireland were leading the way. We couldn’t have asked for more enthusiasm and engagement from our travel partners across the country.” Her comments underline the spirited efforts of agents and the significant engagement achieved through this initiative.
The outcome of The Big Royal Thank You competition underscores the passion and competitive spirit among UK and Ireland travel agents.
