Activ Absence, renowned for its expertise in absence management software, is collaborating with a leading Right to Work and Compliance system provider. This partnership aims to address complex UK immigration laws affecting businesses across various sectors. The collaboration is materialising in the form of a free webinar, designed specifically for HR managers dealing with intricate compliance issues.
Scheduled for 9 June 2015, at 10 am, the webinar titled ‘Update on Immigration Compliance 2015’ will cover key areas of UK immigration legislation. The discussion will include critical aspects of the Points Based System (PBS) Legislation, the Prevention of Illegal Working, and recent amendments. Participants will gain insights into Sponsor Licence requirements when employing sponsored migrants, as well as obligations for maintaining current Sponsor Licence information.
Anne Morris, an esteemed immigration lawyer with over two decades of experience, will lead the session. Morris’ illustrious career began in the Home Office, later founding her own legal practice and subsequently, Working Status. Her extensive knowledge in immigration law has helped businesses efficiently manage Right to Work compliance, primarily through automation solutions. Her clientele ranges across various industries, including Oil & Gas, Technology, and Academic Institutions.
In a statement, Anne Morris highlighted the growing scrutiny by UK Visa and Immigration authorities, which are increasingly conducting surprise site visits. She emphasised the necessity for businesses to meticulously verify ID documentation, not only to comply with the law but also to shield themselves from potential risks such as hidden criminal backgrounds of employees.
Adrian Lewis of Codel Software, the creators of Activ Absence, noted the value of expanding HR partnerships to better support client needs. He acknowledged that the compliance issues addressed in the webinar might be new to many businesses, yet they are crucial to organisational integrity and protection.
This collaboration marks a significant step towards enabling businesses to effectively navigate and comply with UK immigration regulations.
