In a calculated move to bolster its operational capacity, A to Z Logistics has opened a new parcel depot located in Orpington, significantly surpassing the size of its earlier site. This new establishment is more than three times larger, a strategic deployment intended to enhance its service offerings across the southwest and southeast London regions.
The expansive facility will support the expansion of A to Z Logistics’ overnight and same-day parcel collection and delivery services. Covering a wide array of postcode areas—specifically, SW16, BR, CR, and SE3-27—this enhancement is particularly targeted at meeting growing logistical demands from local small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), to which it has pledged ongoing support.
In an effort to keep pace with increasing service demands, A to Z Logistics has also proactively augmented its workforce. The number of personnel has doubled in recent months, now totalling 20 staff members along with 40 drivers, ensuring operational efficiency and service reliability amidst economic uncertainties.
Russ Jones, Operations Director at A to Z, highlights the company’s resilience: ‘As a business we’re in great shape, despite the ongoing economic turbulence and our flexibility as a business has allowed us to evolve and respond to the needs of our customers quickly during times of change.’ This adaptability, since becoming part of The APC delivery network in 2017, underpins their long-term strategy and commitment to customer satisfaction.
Recognition of their operational excellence was affirmed at The APC’s annual awards, where A to Z Logistics was honoured with the London Regional Depot of the Year award. Further exemplifying individual achievement within the company, employee Peter Cook was named Driver of the Year, reflecting the high standards upheld by their team.
