A-Rosa River Cruises has announced an innovative programme that will see the introduction of swimming lessons aboard their flagship vessel, the A-Rosa Sena. This initiative, the first of its kind in the river cruise sector, will begin in August and is conducted in collaboration with the Wasserlust Swimming School.
The swimming courses are designed specifically for children aged between four and a half and seven years, with two scheduled summer holiday departures on the 5th and 12th of August. The collaboration aims to provide both beginner and intermediate classes, ensuring a comprehensive learning experience that enhances the young participants’ aquatic skills.
Each class is limited to a maximum of six participants, ensuring personalised attention and quality instruction over the duration of the 45-minute sessions. The programme, which consists of six lessons in total, is led by a fully qualified swimming instructor. Children who successfully complete the course will receive a certificate as a testament to their progress.
The cost of the six-lesson course is set at €100 per child, and places can be secured either in advance at the time of booking the cruise or on the ship itself, although availability might be limited. This offers flexibility for parents planning their holiday schedules.
Lucia Rowe, A-Rosa’s UK & Ireland Managing Director, highlighted the importance of such an initiative in response to the increasing demand for children’s swimming lessons post-pandemic. She noted that “we all know how important it is to learn to swim from a young age”, acknowledging the unique benefit of coupling this essential skill with the leisure of a river cruise.
This groundbreaking addition to A-Rosa’s offerings underscores the company’s commitment to innovative and family-friendly cruise experiences.
