The fund emerges in the wake of a successful management buyout, enhancing IW Capital’s capability to issue larger funding commitments to selected firms. Tariq Attia, CEO of IW Capital, expressed enthusiasm for this new chapter, highlighting 2023 as the most active year for the firm despite economic uncertainties. ‘Our approach means we have continued to see success regardless of the economic environment,’ Attia noted, stressing the firm’s resilience and proactive investment approach.

Armstrong reiterated the firm’s dedication to being an active partner, combining the nimbleness of venture capital with the steadfastness of private equity. This dual strategy is designed to furnish promising UK businesses with the necessary financial and commercial resources to reach their full potential.
Since its inception in 2011, IW Capital has demonstrated a strong track record, having backed around 40 UK startups, including notable ventures such as WeSwap and GPDQ. The firm’s portfolio management, which exceeds £150m in assets and includes eight successful exits, showcases its adeptness in navigating and supporting high-growth sectors.
