In an exciting charity initiative, Leith collaborates with actor Ewan McGregor to create a limited edition whisky in support of Children’s Hospices Across Scotland (CHAS).
- Only 150 bottles of the rare ‘Ewan’s Cut’ whisky have been produced, each featuring artwork inspired by McGregor’s film roles.
- The whisky, a 26-year-old Arran Single Malt, has been matured in a rare ex-Sherry Hogshead cask and bottled at a robust 46% ABV.
- The auction of these unique bottles will run globally from September 27 to October 7, with proceeds benefiting CHAS.
- Whisky Auctioneer has waived the seller’s commission and will donate its buyer’s commission to maximise funds for the charity.
Leith, in collaboration with celebrated actor Ewan McGregor, the Lochranza Distillery, and the charity Children’s Hospices Across Scotland (CHAS), has embarked on an extraordinary venture to design a bottle label for a limited run of 150 bottles of ‘Ewan’s Cut’ whisky. This initiative aims to merge cinematic art with bespoke whisky craftsmanship for a noble cause.
Each bottle within this rare collection possesses its unique charm, featuring a label adorned with quotes from some of McGregor’s iconic film roles, ranging from ‘Trainspotting’ to ‘Star Wars’. The exclusivity is enhanced by the fact that 20 bottles bear McGregor’s personal signature, further elevating their desirability among collectors and fans alike.
This exceptional whisky, a 26-year-old Arran Single Malt, has been carefully matured in an ex-Sherry Hogshead cask. Bottled at 46% ABV, it stands as one of the oldest and most distinguished whiskies produced by the Lochranza Distillery to date. This endeavour not only celebrates the artistry of whisky-making but also pays homage to McGregor’s illustrious career.
To ensure the highest possible fundraising for CHAS, the auction of these bottles is being managed by Whisky Auctioneer, the preeminent platform for online whisky sales. Remarkably, Whisky Auctioneer has waived the seller’s commission and has pledged to donate its 12.5% buyer’s commission, thereby maximising the proceeds directed towards CHAS.
McGregor, a long-time supporter of CHAS, expressed his heartfelt commitment to the charity, stating, ‘I have been involved with CHAS and visited their hospices many times over the years, so I know the unwavering care that both Rachel House and Robin House provide children and their families during their hardest moments.’ His aim for this auction is to secure vital funding to support the charity’s invaluable services.
This collaboration highlights the innovative fusion of creativity and philanthropy, aiming to significantly benefit CHAS.
