US start-up airline Moxy has announced it has signed a firm order with Airbus to purchase 60 A220-300 aircraft, the company said.
The A220-300 is the A220 Family´s longer-fuselage version; specifically designed and purpose-built for the 130-160 seat market. Moxy selected new Airbus model for operational efficiencies and passenger comfort.
The order was completed the final week of December. Airbus will produce the A220-300 at a new US assembly facility in Mobile, Alabama.
Moxy is the new airline venture led by the founder of JetBlue Airways.
