Suffolk Building Society has taken an important step by expanding its telephone business development management (BDM) support, now covering four additional regions in the UK. This strategic move is part of their ongoing commitment to enhance service for mortgage brokers. Brokers in the North and North East, including areas such as NE, DH, and SR, will now receive dedicated management from Carly Scholes. Scholes, who previously supported brokers in the North West, brings a wealth of experience from her time in the property industry since 2010, including roles such as a broker assistant for a financial adviser.
Meanwhile, Beth Hillman, who has been supporting the Central London area, will now extend her expertise to the Greater London and South East regions. Hillman’s seven-year tenure in the mortgage industry, including four years as a mortgage broker, positions her well to offer robust support to brokers in postcode areas such as UB, TW, and KT.
Charlotte Grimshaw, head of intermediary relations and mortgage sales at the Society, highlighted the critical role these changes will play. By allocating dedicated BDMs to these new areas, Suffolk Building Society aims to assist brokers in shaping cases and uncovering client solutions previously unexplored. This approach is particularly timely given the numerous updates in criteria this year, with more expected soon.
Grimshaw commented on the invaluable service that BDMs provide. Notably, they are adept at facilitating pre-Decision in Principle (DIP) approvals and offer brokers direct access to underwriters. This direct access, combined with their determination, is key to advancing even the most intricate applications. The expansion of telephone BDM support is a reflection of the Society’s dedication to empowering brokers to better serve their clients.
This initiative signifies Suffolk Building Society’s commitment to enriching broker services through expanded support and expertise.
