Quatuma, a renowned business advisory firm, has successfully overseen the transfer of ownership of D&A Seafood Solutions Ltd, ensuring the company’s continuity and preserving employment. This strategic pre-pack sale was executed with the intention of maintaining stability for all stakeholders involved after D&A Seafood Solutions faced significant financial challenges.
On 31 October 2024, Quantuma’s managing directors, Sean Bucknall and Elias Paourou, were appointed joint administrators of the seafood supplier. Within a short timeframe, they facilitated the sale of the business and its assets to Ramus (Grimsby) Ltd, a notable supplier of fresh fish and seafood based in Grimsby.
D&A Seafood Solutions, founded in 2015 and based in the Grimsby Fish Docks, has been a key supplier to retailers, restaurants, hotels, and caterers, operating from a British Retail Consortium accredited site. However, the company reported financial difficulties, culminating in a turnover of approximately £4.5 million in 2023 and entering a Company Voluntary Arrangement (CVA) in April 2024. Unfortunately, this arrangement proved unsustainable, resulting in the company entering administration.
The sale brings clarity and security to the 32 employees of D&A Seafood Solutions, all of whom have been transferred to Ramus (Grimsby) Ltd under TUPE regulations, safeguarding their jobs and the local economic fabric. The Grimsby site remains operational, continuing to serve its longstanding clients under new ownership.
