In a strategic move to enhance its delivery services, Majestic has partnered with Just Eat to offer rapid delivery of its wine selection. This collaboration allows customers to order from an extensive range of wines, including Champagne, Sparkling, and regional varieties such as Bordeaux and Loire, as well as Majestic’s own-label options. Deliveries can be made in as little as 30 minutes through the Just Eat app.
This partnership launched on 29 October 2024, initially covering 43 Majestic stores, with 16 located across London. It is set to expand to 177 stores nationwide before the Christmas period, allowing more customers to benefit from quick and convenient access to Majestic’s product range.
Majestic has already established a presence in rapid delivery through existing partnerships with Uber Eats, Deliveroo, and Gophr. The addition of Just Eat to this portfolio underscores the retailer’s commitment to meeting the growing demand for swift local delivery solutions, which now account for over 20% of its retail sales in the 2023/24 period.
The introduction of this service aligns with Majestic’s ‘Shop Local’ initiative, which enables customers to view and purchase stock in real time from their local store, offering flexible options for collection or next-day delivery. Maria Lopez, Majestic’s commercial general manager, highlighted the benefits of providing customers with more choices and underscored the importance of the growing on-demand channel.
Amy Heather, Just Eat’s director of strategic partnerships, expressed delight in incorporating Majestic’s wines, beers, and spirits into Just Eat’s offerings. She noted that whether a customer needs to restock their weekly supplies or find a last-minute gift, Just Eat’s expansive network facilitates greater convenience and choice for consumers across the UK.
John Colley, head of Majestic, has ambitious plans for the company’s expansion. Earlier this year, he announced the opening of over 50 new stores, reflecting the retailer’s robust growth trajectory since its acquisition by US private equity firm Fortress in 2019.
Majestic’s collaboration with Just Eat represents a significant expansion in its delivery capabilities, addressing increasing consumer demand for rapid service.
