Advantage Global Business Travel has unveiled its new advisory board consisting of 14 seasoned professionals, marking a significant development in its strategic initiatives. The board’s formation, initially announced in August, aims to blend insights from diverse sectors such as aviation, technology, and accommodation, enhancing the overarching strategic direction of Advantage’s Global Business Travel division.
The advisory board, comprising individuals with rich experience across their respective fields, will convene every quarter. Their role is not merely advisory; they are expected to actively contribute to strategic planning, ensuring Advantage stays on course to achieve its growth and innovation targets. Andrea Caulfield-Smith, the managing director and chair of the advisory board, expressed pride in assembling a team of such distinguished individuals.
A member of this newly formed board, Ashley Bowling, serves as the vice-president of commercial solutions business development, Europe, at Mastercard. He brings over two decades of experience in commercial payments. Another prominent figure, Clive Wratten, the chief executive of The Business Travel Association, brings over 40 years of advocacy experience, notably from his leadership roles at various airlines during challenging times like Covid-19.
The board’s members, including operations director Craig Burdett, who oversees travel for media productions, and British Airways’ global sales director David Oppenheim, will leverage their considerable industry expertise to aid Advantage in realising its growth and development ambitions. Similarly, James Beagrie from Meon Valley Travel and Jeanette Harper from Avis Budget Group, both bring a wealth of knowledge in business travel and strategic development.
Advantage Global Business Travel’s intention with this board is clear: to remain agile in the fast-paced travel industry. The board will help in identifying opportunities that align with their One-Stop Business Hub approach. This strategic manoeuvre signals Advantage’s commitment to fostering innovation, ensuring sustained growth and progress in new product offerings.
This new advisory board signifies Advantage Global Business Travel’s proactive approach to navigating and advancing within the industry.
