The public sector is invited to participate in a substantial facilities management framework valued at £814 million, set to run over four years. This initiative aims to deliver comprehensive management services, ensuring top-notch upkeep and security across multiple sectors, including healthcare, education, and infrastructure.
The framework’s structure offers flexibility, divided into three service categories: hard, soft, and total facilities management. Hard services pertain to the maintenance and repair of building infrastructure, including mechanical services and general repairs, while soft services focus on cleaning, security, and waste management. Total management merges these aspects, providing an all-encompassing service.
Six distinct lots define the framework, categorised by financial thresholds and service types. These range from contracts up to £1 million to those exceeding this amount, enabling a wide range of suppliers to engage based on capacity and expertise.
Significantly, the framework is available across all UK regions. Each region will accommodate seven local suppliers, offering diverse options. Additionally, three suppliers will have national reach, providing up to ten supplier choices for clients, thus enhancing service accessibility and competitive pricing.
Slated for launch in October 2024, the framework’s implementation will be overseen by the Red Kite Learning Trust, ensuring continuity and oversight throughout its duration. Interested parties can express their interest through designated channels, facilitating prior engagement with the project.
This ambitious framework marks a strategic move to enhance facilities management services across the UK.
