Leyland Trucks, a prominent name in the production of DAF commercial vehicles, has celebrated a remarkable achievement by manufacturing its 125,000th heavy-duty vehicle. This milestone underscores its significant presence in the automotive industry, particularly within the heavy-duty vehicle sector.
The notable vehicle, an XD 340 FAR 6×2 rigid model featuring a lifting rear axle, was ceremoniously handed over to Copart, a global leader in the vehicle remarketing industry, renowned for its expertise in online auctions of salvaged and used vehicles. Copart’s fleet underscores its preference for Leyland Trucks, operating over 350 models including the XB, XD, and XF.
Leyland Trucks initially launched its heavy-duty production with the CF Series, followed by the XF Series. The facility now proudly assembles the complete New Generation range of DAF models, including the XD, XF, XG, and XG+ models, catering not only to the UK clientele but extending to diverse global markets.
In addition to its domestic success, Leyland Trucks plays a pivotal role on the international stage, exporting approximately 40% of its annual production to overseas markets. This global reach highlights the brand’s manufacturing prowess and its ability to meet various market demands.
