In an assertive move to cement its position within the UK market, Kajaria Ceramics, India’s largest tile manufacturer, has successfully acquired seven new stores, broadening its footprint across the region. This expansion follows the administrative collapse of CTD Tiles, from whom Kajaria has purchased these outlets for a sum of £400,000. The acquisition signifies Kajaria’s strategic intent to grow its influence and establish a robust presence in the competitive UK tile market.
The deal encompasses a variety of locations, including the purchase of stores situated in Brierley Hill, Chester, Colchester, Coventry, Croydon, Derby, and Northampton. This geographical spread is poised to enhance Kajaria’s accessibility to regional markets throughout the UK, thus allowing the company to better serve a diverse clientele with its expansive product range.
As the world’s eighth largest tile manufacturer, Kajaria boasts an impressive annual production capacity of 93.1 million square metres. The company is not new to the UK market, having already established a 14,000 square metre showroom in Park Royal, London, which is reputed as the largest of its kind nationwide. This latest expansion is a testament to Kajaria’s commitment to innovation and forward-thinking in the realm of tile manufacturing.
In the wake of CTD Tiles’ downturn, Kajaria’s UKP sales director, Damian Hunter, expressed a clear ambition to not only grow the company’s network of branches within the UK but also to reconnect with suppliers affected by the aforementioned administration. Hunter emphasized, “We are looking forward to growing our network of UK branches following the acquisition of several CTD Tiles stores and also growing our team with the welcome addition of new colleagues.”
In proactively seeking to engage with a broad spectrum of specialist contractors and architects, Kajaria endeavours to fortify its standing as a reliable partner in the construction industry. The integration of these new stores is aligned with Kajaria’s objective to strategically position itself at the forefront of the market, adapting swiftly to local demands and maintaining high standards of quality and service.
Kajaria Ceramics’ expansion into the UK market exemplifies its strategic foresight and commitment to growth.
