Andrew Boileau has assumed the role of managing director at Midland Quarry Products, a significant division of Heidelberg Materials. This appointment marks Boileau’s transition from Stark Building Materials, where he served as programme director, steering the operations of brands like Jewson and Gibbs & Dandy. His leadership at MQP follows the retirement of Rick Green, a veteran in the industry with a 40-year career under his belt.
In his new position, Boileau will oversee MQP’s extensive infrastructure, which comprises three quarries and ten asphalt plants located across the Midlands. His prior roles, particularly as a managing director at Gibbs & Dandy, have equipped him with the expertise needed to navigate the complexities of the construction materials sector. Boileau’s history with Heidelberg Materials enriches his understanding of the company’s objectives and customer-centric approach.
Boileau has openly expressed his admiration for Heidelberg’s commitment to sustainability, highlighting this as a motivating factor in his decision to join the group. He acknowledges the challenge of stepping into Rick Green’s shoes, while expressing enthusiasm about the new role and the opportunity to contribute to both commercial success and sustainable practices at MQP.
Rick Green, well-regarded in the highway maintenance and construction sector, has not only been integral to Midland Quarry Products but also influential as the chair of the Asphalt Industry Alliance since 2017. With his departure, the role has been assumed by Giles, the UK director of Continental Bitumen, part of the French group Colas. Green’s impactful career leaves a lasting impression on the industry.
Andrew Boileau’s appointment marks a new era for Midland Quarry Products, promising a continued focus on growth and sustainability.
