This joint venture is poised to transform Hollis Croft with a 234-bed build-to-rent (BTR) development, designed to meet the growing demand for residential spaces in thriving UK cities.
The development will present a dynamic architectural profile, with its structure escalating from seven stories on the western aspect to a towering 17 stories to the east. The residential offerings include diverse housing solutions, such as studios and one- to two-bedroom apartments. Moreover, the scheme promises an enriched living experience with amenities that align with contemporary urban lifestyles, including a residents’ lounge, cinema room, gym, co-working areas with meeting rooms, and dedicated bicycle storage facilities.
Both Torsion and HGP are committed to jointly infusing equity into this ambitious undertaking. Torsion Construction is entrusted with the comprehensive on-site delivery, operating as the principal contractor, while Torsion Developments takes on the role of development manager, ensuring that every aspect of the construction reflects their vision.
This venture marks Torsion’s second engagement in Sheffield and signifies its premiere build-to-rent endeavour. The scheduled completion is envisioned for the mid-2026 timeline. Dan Spencer, the chief executive of Torsion Group, highlighted the collaborative essence of this project, crediting HGP for being a supportive equity partner in this venture.
