DAF Trucks, in a significant strategic move, has appointed Louis Jones as the head of its electric vehicle (EV) and connected services division. This decision marks a pivotal moment for DAF as it advances its EV capabilities to meet the growing demands of the market.
Jones, who has previously held senior positions at Scania and Mercedes-Benz, is set to bring an extensive wealth of experience and knowledge to DAF’s EV ambitions. His previous role as the transformation lead for electric charging at Scania involved overseeing the business readiness of EV products throughout the dealer network. Moreover, at Mercedes-Benz, he was instrumental in fleet management and electric mobility, further solidifying his position as an expert in the field of electric vehicles.
The new role at DAF includes the development of the company’s EV strategy, encompassing aftersales, the EV dealer network strategy, and the roll-out of charging infrastructure.
