Carbon neutral courier service Packfleet has taken a strategic step by promoting Robert Collings to the role of Chief Financial Officer. This decision follows Collings’ instrumental role in navigating the company through its Series A fundraising, which successfully garnered over £8 million from investors General Catalyst and Voyager Ventures. This investment is seen as a critical component in Packfleet’s strategic initiatives to secure a stronger presence in the London delivery sector, particularly within the M25 corridor.
Tristan Thomas, Packfleet’s CEO, underscored the significance of Collings’ promotion, noting, “It’s been a pleasure having Rob as our head of finance for the past 18 months. Post-fundraise, we’re entering a pivotal phase of growth, and it’s vital that we have a trusted member of the team ensuring we’re spending that money in the right way.” Thomas conveyed confidence in Collings’ capability to guide the company through its forthcoming growth phases.
Reflecting on his elevated role, Collings remarked, “Startups are an amazing place to garner experience, and after supporting the business through our Series A fundraise and the start of our nationwide expansion, I’m excited to continue the journey.” He acknowledges Packfleet’s impactful role in the logistics sector and his enthusiasm to sustain its pioneering efforts.
Since its inception in 2021, Packfleet has expanded to employ over 50 staff members at its headquarters and boasts a client list that includes notable brands such as Pizza Pilgrims, HURR, and Who Gives A Crap. This growth trajectory highlights the company’s commitment to innovation and industry leadership, positioning itself as a frontrunner in sustainable logistics.
Moreover, Packfleet recently received B Corp certification, becoming the first logistics firm operating an entirely electric fleet to achieve this recognition. This certification denotes adherence to high social and environmental performance standards, with Packfleet demonstrating such compliance through a commendable B Impact Assessment score.
In collaboration with logistics platform bodo, Packfleet is augmenting its green delivery capabilities within London. This partnership, initiated in May, has led to impressive results, with nearly 98% of parcels delivered on the first attempt and zero damages reported, underscoring the efficacy and reliability of their service.
Robert Collings’ promotion to CFO marks a pivotal chapter in Packfleet’s trajectory towards sustainable growth and industry leadership.
