Intrepid Travel has achieved unprecedented sales success for January.
- A record sales day was recorded on January 31, surpassing the previous day.
- Sales increased by 36% in the UK and Ireland, driven by strong partnerships.
- The top destinations were Vietnam, Morocco, India, Peru, and Costa Rica.
- Southeast Asia and Africa saw notable increases in passenger bookings.
Intrepid Travel has marked a milestone by achieving record-breaking sales in January, largely attributed to its annual Big January Sale. The sales figures reached an all-time high in the UK and Ireland markets, with a particularly outstanding performance on January 31, which exceeded the sales recorded on January 30, itself a significant day for the company.
The overall sales for January in the UK and Ireland rose by an impressive 36%. This success was bolstered by robust contributions from industry partners, which helped to generate a 30% rise in industry revenue compared to the same period in 2023.
The company’s offerings in destinations such as Vietnam, Morocco, India, Peru, and Costa Rica were among the top sellers. These locations captured the interest of travellers despite the ongoing economic challenges.
Southeast Asia experienced a notable 33% increase in passenger bookings. Additionally, southern and East Africa saw remarkable growth, with increases of 69% and 23% respectively. This indicates a rising preference among travellers for these regions.
Hazel McGuire, Intrepid’s UK & Ireland general manager, acknowledged these achievements, stating: “These figures show that those who can are continuing to prioritise travel, despite the cost-of-living pressures and economic uncertainty.” Her words reflect the enduring appeal of travel and the resilience of consumer demand.
The record sales in January underscore Intrepid’s successful strategies and resilient market presence.
