For the first time since 2020, Cunard has strategically reintroduced a regional sales team, reflecting a significant operational shift. This move, announced on 22 June 2023, underscores Cunard’s commitment to enhancing its engagement with travel agent partners across the UK.
The company has appointed two new partnership development managers, Savannah Fryer and John Garbutt, who will serve distinct geographical areas – the north and south of the UK respectively. Both managers, already part of Carnival UK, began their reporting to Business Manager James Scott as of 19 June, under the guidance of UK Director of Sales, Tom Mahoney.
The primary responsibility for Fryer and Garbutt will be to cultivate and strengthen relationships with both new and existing travel agent partners. This includes providing tailored training, sales, and marketing support, aiming to create a more personalised service for their clients.
Tom Mahoney expressed enthusiasm about the initiative, stating, “We are excited to now be able to provide a more tailored, personalised service for our agent partners, with dedicated regional support. We have listened and our new approach reflects the feedback we have been receiving.” This statement indicates a responsive approach from Cunard, showing adaptability to partner feedback and market needs.
The timing of this reorganisation aligns with the imminent arrival of Queen Anne, Cunard’s newest ship set to join its illustrious fleet, marking an auspicious period of growth and expansion for the company. This development, coupled with an expanded sales team now comprising 13 members, highlights Cunard’s proactive strategy to bolster their market presence and distribution channels.
Cunard’s strategic reintroduction of its regional sales team signifies a forward-thinking approach to enhancing partner engagement and market reach.
