Lostock Skip Hire, a family-operated waste disposal and recycling business, has embarked on a new chapter by integrating Renault trucks into its operational fleet. This marks the company’s first acquisition of Renault vehicles, demonstrating a strategic move influenced by local operator endorsements and the commendable reputation of JDS Truck and Van dealership.
The fleet update includes the addition of two C440 8×4 models, a D12 Low 4×2, and a D18 High 4×2. These vehicles are to be deployed from the company’s primary location in Horwich, Bolton, and a secondary facility in Leyland. They will service a diverse clientele, providing skip delivery and collection services to both residential and commercial customers.
In a bid to enhance operational safety, the new Renault D12 and D18 trucks have been equipped with lightweight steel HIAB Futura skiploaders, along with passenger side vision doors that feature lower tinted windows. This design innovation significantly improves driver visibility concerning cyclists and other vulnerable road users, aligning with broader road safety imperatives.
Joanna Dyke, a director at Lostock, emphasised the importance of meeting customer expectations, which fundamentally influences their continuous investment in reliable vehicles. She stated, ‘Our primary focus is meeting customer expectations, with a key emphasis on vehicle uptime.’ This commitment to reliability is reflected in the company’s procurement strategy, which involves refreshing their fleet every three to four years.
A critical factor in Lostock’s decision to opt for Renault trucks is the robust aftersales service provided by JDS Truck and Van. The vehicles benefit from a comprehensive four-year repair and maintenance package, inclusive of warranty, offering substantial peace of mind and operational reassurance.
Looking ahead, Lostock Skip Hire plans to alter their fleet composition to a balanced mix, maintaining a 50/50 distribution between existing vehicles and Renault trucks. The expansion aims to increase their Renault fleet from four to fifteen, signalling a substantial commitment to this brand.
Lostock Skip Hire’s strategic expansion with Renault trucks reflects their commitment to safety, reliability, and customer satisfaction.
