Seabourn, a prominent player in the cruise industry, is set to launch an unprecedented “Expedition Month” this June. This initiative is specifically designed to provide travel agents with enhanced insights into Seabourn’s diverse itineraries through a series of expertly conducted webinars. Spanning 45 minutes each, these sessions are scheduled weekly throughout the month, allowing participating agents to gain a deeper understanding of Seabourn’s offerings, particularly focusing on Arctic and less commonly visited Pacific regions.
Beyond the informative webinars, Seabourn will disseminate a series of newsletters intended to equip agents with top-tier selling strategies. Also, interactive quizzes available on social media platforms will offer spot prizes to incentivise learning and engagement. By integrating these elements, Seabourn aims to bolster agents’ confidence and competence in presenting and selling their expedition cruises to potential guests.
In a unique opportunity, Seabourn is offering two spots for agents to embark on an Arctic expedition voyage in the summer of 2025. This coveted opportunity is designed to reward agents who not only attend at least two out of three webinars but also successfully make and confirm a new booking for a Seabourn Expedition between 1 June and 31 August 2024. Such incentives are geared towards motivating agents to actively engage with the training content and subsequently apply this knowledge practically.
The series of webinars is set to commence on the 4th of June with participation from key figures such as Robin West, Seabourn’s Vice President of Expeditions. West will offer insights into the intricate crafting of Seabourn’s Antarctica itineraries, followed by a session on the 11th of June, where he will delve into the warm-weather Pacific, Amazon River, and Kimberley expeditions. Concluding the series on the 18th of June, Danae Sheehan, an expedition specialist and ornithologist, will guide agents through the nuances of the Arctic explorations.
Lynn Narraway, Vice President for UK & EMEA at Seabourn, expressed enthusiasm for the programme, citing feedback from the CLIA’s inaugural Expedition Cruise Summit as a driving force behind its conception. Agents had expressed a clear demand for more comprehensive training on expedition destinations, which Seabourn has aptly addressed with this educational series. This aligns with Seabourn’s broader strategy of re-engaging its travel partners, a vision recently supported by Tom Andrews, the new UK and EMEA sales director.
Seabourn’s ‘Expedition Month’ represents a strategic initiative aimed at empowering travel agents with the skills required to effectively market and sell its luxurious expedition offerings.
