Scenic is set to host 50 UK travel agents aboard its discovery yacht, the Scenic Eclipse, in an innovative initiative to showcase its offerings. This event is slated to occur during the company’s UK & Ireland season, underscoring Scenic’s commitment to reinforcing its presence in the region. Invited agents will have the unique opportunity to participate in ship tours coupled with exclusive lunches, with the events scheduled in various strategic locations: Isle of Man, Dublin, Portrush, and Aberdeen throughout June.
This experiential approach is part of a broader strategy conceived by Nick Hughes, the new director of sales, partnerships, and strategic growth for Scenic and Emerald Cruises. Hughes articulates a vision where more agents are immersed in experiencing the company’s diverse river and ocean products. As he asserts, the Scenic Eclipse needs to be ‘personally experienced to appreciate just how ultra-luxury she is,’ therefore personal invitations have been extended to selected trade partners. These encounters are deemed as some of the most prestigious within the sector.
Aside from the tours and lunches, Scenic has organised three ‘fam’ (familiarisation) trips, a testament to the company’s increased focus on agent engagement. These trips, more numerous than ever before, will traverse Scenic and Emerald Cruises’ European river destinations, providing further insight into the extensive product range.
Hughes is optimistic about continuing the trend of robust bookings and heightened brand recognition, following favourable outcomes in the first two quarters of the year. A significant driver for this positive momentum is attributed to Scenic Eclipse’s feature on the television series “Cruising with Susan Calman” on Channel 5. Agents attending the event will additionally have the chance to observe the onboard helicopters and a new custom-built submersible, enhancing the allure of the yacht.
The programme commences on 6 June in the Isle of Man, subsequently moving to Dublin on 7 June, Portrush on 8 June, and culminating in Aberdeen on 14 June. These meticulously planned visits form a part of Scenic’s broader strategic focus to solidify trade sales, acknowledging agents as a pivotal element of their business model.
