Palletline has recently launched an innovative pallet service tailored for the B2B sector, primarily targeting retail customers and e-commerce entities. The service, labelled as Half+, accommodates shipments up to 1.8 meters in height and a weight of 500 kilograms. This advancement is intended to streamline logistical processes across regional and national distribution centres.
Jonathan Edge, Palletline board director and MD of Edge Transport, stated that the Half+ pallet system emerged from comprehensive research within the member network, focusing on customer needs. The service provides a flexible, efficient, and financially viable alternative, demonstrating Palletline’s commitment to innovation in service offerings.
Moreover, the introduction of this new pallet type enhances optimal warehouse racking and vehicle utilisation, making it a solution that transcends traditional half pallets. It provides an economically advantageous option for clients requiring larger pallets.
Graham Leitch, Group MD, emphasised that the Half+ product grants members greater flexibility in their customer offerings. It also consolidates Palletline’s strategic alignment with Amazon, a major partner, as the service fits seamlessly within Amazon’s inbound preferred carrier programme—making Palletline the exclusive UK pallet network in this initiative.
Within the competitive landscape of the palletised freight market, Palletline has maintained a stable revenue stream, consistent with the financial results of 2023. The company’s strategic moves, like rebranding Palletline Wrexham, aim to bolster its market standing in North Wales.
Palletline’s introduction of the Half+ service marks a significant step towards enhancing logistical efficiency and maintaining market competitiveness.
